DENVER – The City and County of Denver is celebrating the success of a free on-demand ride share service it launched less than two years ago as it reaches a major milestone of 100,000 riders with top destinations being grocery stores, regional public transit and community centers.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) launched the Denver Connector in Montbello as a one-year pilot in October 2021, to fill gaps in available public transit for that area and support the community with a point-to-point microtransit service.

Given the success of the program, in November 2022, Denver City Council approved DOTI to extend the pilot two more years and expand the service to Gateway, Globeville and Elyria-Swansea.

“The Denver Connector is a great example of the community, partners and the city coming together to creatively expand public transportation opportunities and connect people to the places they want and need to go,” said DOTI Executive Director, Adam Phipps.

Other organizations supporting the Denver Connector include the Northeast Transportation Connections, Downtowner and Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resiliency.

About the Service:

  • Riders use the Denver Connector mobile app or call (720) 905-4438 to request rides in English and Spanish.
  • The service is available weekdays from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. with on-demand trips in either the Montbello-Gateway or GES service areas.
  • All rides are free!
  • The service offers wheelchair accessible vans, bike racks, eco-friendly plug-in hybrid minivans and all-electric crossovers (crossovers leased through the voter-established Climate Protection Fund).
