Denver to Test Emergency Alerting Systems from May 8 - May 12

DENVER, CO – The Denver Department of Public Safety along with the Denver Office of Emergency Management are partnering to test the Outdoor Warning Sirens and land line or opt-in Reverse Emergency Notifications (REN) system during the week of May 8 through May 12. The testing is solely meant to ensure Denver’s emergency technology is functional, therefore residents should not be alarmed. During the test, there is no need to take action.

REN testing will take place every 45 minutes in various neighborhoods in the city. Additionally, the live siren test will happen Wednesday, May 10 at 11 a.m. The siren may be heard throughout the city and at the Denver International Airport.

Prior to testing week, we encourage the community visit www.denvergov.org/emergencynotifications and click on ‘Reverse Emergency Notifications (REN)’ tab to create an account and register for these alerts.
