A Message From Our Superintendent
Dear Adams 14 community,
We have had a great start to the second half of the 2022-2023 school year. We continue working with our partners to develop the district’s strategic plan and the Academies at Adams City High School and strengthen the Community School Model at Central Elementary School.
Earlier this month, the Adams 14 Board of Education received a report from the Colorado Department of Education, as required by state orders, with good highlights and comments about the work our fantastic team in Adams 14 is doing to support our schools! I want to thank every single employee, parent, and student for their commitment to the district’s continuous improvement.
Please join me in observing African-American History Month throughout February. This annual celebration highlights the contributions of African-Americans to the United States, honoring Black people throughout U.S. history, from the enslaved people first brought over from Africa in the early 17th century to African-Americans living in the United States today.
Some ways we can honor the African-American legacy include supporting Black business owners, donating to charities that promote anti-racism and equality, and educating ourselves on Black historical figures and their contributions to society.
The Adams 14 Board of Education will join me by officially proclaiming February as Black History Month, furthering the district’s goal of creating an inclusive educational environment for all.
At your service,
Superintendent Dr. Karla Loría
