Denver Climate Action Sustainability & Resiliency reminded residents they could get rebates for upgrading heating and cooling equipment.

Homeowners who have installed any projects after Jan. 1, 2023, are eligible to apply for a rebate.

"Save thousands of dollars when you upgrade your old heating and cooling equipment and electrify your home with Denver's Climate Action Rebates!" the tweet reads. "Rebates for heat pumps and charging can stack with the Inflation Reduction Act and Xcel Energy. Learn more at http://denvergov.org/homeenergy."

Climate Action rebates are now available in all rebate categories. Residents who meet certain qualifications can get incentives that could be as much as 100% of installed project costs after taking advantage of Xcel’s rebates, according to denvergov.org.

To qualify for a Denver Climate Action Rebate program application, individuals must have equipment installed at an address within the City and County of Denver. The contractor must confirm/collect the following information: Resident at the installation address must be an Xcel Energy customer. The resident at the installation address must provide the contractor with a copy/photo of their Xcel Energy utility bill. More details are available in the FAQs.

The City and County of Denver outline these application steps: "Research and choose what equipment you want to install Get quotes from approved contractors. Make sure to emphasize that you're interested in Denver's Climate Action, Xcel Energy's rebates, and rebates from the Inflation Reduction Act. Take a look at our Registered Contractor List(PDF, 420KB). We recommend that you get at least three quotes from different contractors to compare. Choose a contractor and schedule an installation. Rebates should be included in your quote/invoice as a credit or a discount. Your contractor will submit paperwork about the rebate on your behalf."
