City and County of Denver issued the following announcement on Nov. 23.

Denver’s Department of Public Health & Environment (DDPHE) launched its newest fixed community testing site at Ruby Hill Park at 1200 W. Florida Ave.

The new location should help relieve traffic congestion and long wait times caused by increased demand for testing at nearby Paco Sanchez Park at 1290 Knox. Ct.

Ruby Hill Park joins three other sites designed to bring testing to communities with high positivity rates and to support those who don’t have insurance or are underinsured.

The city moved from the massive Pepsi Center testing site to more focused neighborhood testing at Paco Sanchez Park on Oct. 1. Green Valley Ranch Pool at 4455 Jebel St. followed, then Denver Human Services East at 3815 Steele St.

Testing at Ruby Hill Park will be available seven days a week, Mon-Fri., 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m.-noon.

However, we are shifting resources from the Paco Sanchez site to stand up and launch Ruby Hill Park. That means the Paco site will temporarily close from November 23-29 to accommodate this work. The sites at Green Valley Ranch and Denver Human Services East will continue regular operations. All sites will close on Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving and a citywide furlough day.

Hours and times for the other three fixed sites, along with event and private testing can be found on our testing page.

The city also offers mobile testing for those who are homebound. Appointments for mobile testing can be made by calling 311.

People who feel sick or are concerned they have been exposed to COVID-19 should get tested. However, if you have health insurance, please schedule an appointment with your primary care provider or an urgent care facility and leave these community sites for those with the greatest need.

Media is welcome to tour the site. We will provide an interview opportunity with the head of testing operations from 10-11 a.m.
