City and County of Denver issued the following announcement on Aug. 3.
The Denver Department of Public Health & Environment (DDPHE), along with deputies from the Denver Sheriff Department, teamed up over the weekend to successfully enforce COVID-19 public health orders.
Enforcement teams issued 20 tickets at Denver businesses from Friday to Sunday for violations of public health orders, including: customers and staff not wearing face coverings, no social distancing, not posting required signage, maximum crowd capacities exceeded, and serving alcohol after 10 p.m. Businesses can receive a ticket if a significant number of their customers and employees are not wearing face coverings.
Inspection teams also closed five businesses including: Welcome Inn at 3659 Chestnut Pl.; Your Mom’s House at 608 E. 13th Ave.; PT’s Show Club at 1601 W. Evans Ave.; PT’s Show Club at 3480 S. Galena St.; and Zanzibar at 2046 Larimer St. The city shut these businesses down because they had either previously been warned to abide by the orders or the violations were egregious.
The city is taking this decisive approach to prevent further closures in our community and resulting economic damage. Denver continues to see more new cases than any other metro-area county.
