City of Denver issued the following announcement on July 2.
Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. In addition, most City and County Denver offices will be closed Monday, July 6 due to a previously announced furlough day for city employees.
Due to the holiday and furlough day, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies will be closed. Partner entities such as Denver Health will remain open Friday, July 3 and Monday, July 6, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Friday, July 3 and Monday, July 6 as well.
Several city services remain on modified operations schedules independent of the holiday and scheduled furlough day due to COVID-19.
3-1-1, the city’s information line for non-emergency services will be closed Friday, July 3 and Monday, July 6.
Child and adult protection hotlines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To report suspected child abuse or neglect call 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437) from anywhere in Colorado. If you have any concerns about the abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an older adult or an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, please call 720-944-4DHS (4347).
Trash, recycling and composting will be collected on Friday, July 3 and Monday, July 6.
The Denver Elections Division will be open Monday, July 6 for legally required operations associated with the June 30 primary election.
The Denver County Court and all state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, will be open Monday, July 6. For additional information: Denver County Court | 2nd Judicial District.
The Denver Animal Shelter will be open on Friday, July 3 and Sunday, July 5, and closed Saturday, July 4 and Monday, July 6. Animal Protection Officers will be available to respond to emergencies as requested by the Denver Police Department.
Denver’s vehicle impound facility will be open Friday, July 3 for regular weekday businesses hours and Sunday, July 5 for regular weekend business hours. The facility will be closed Saturday, July 4 and Monday, July 6.
Denver Public Library live remote services such as phone reference and eProgramming will be unavailable from Friday, July 3 through Saturday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday, and Monday, July 6 due to the furlough day. Book drops are now open at all locations with the exception of the Byers and Smiley branch libraries.
