San José State will launch a national search for its next head women's volleyball coach, announced by Director of Athletics Jeff Konya on Monday. Trent Kersten has resigned to be the head coach at Loyola Marymount University.

The Spartans are coming off their most successful season in the Mountain West, finishing second in the league with a 14-4 mark and advancing to the Mountain West Championship for the first time in program history. SJSU eclipsed the 20-win plateau for the first time in more than 20 years, finishing 21-9. The Spartans went 9-1 inside YUH this season after posting a 10-2 mark at home the year before.

The search for the next volleyball coach will begin immediately.
