City and County of Denver issued the following announcement on Oct. 16.
Most City and County of Denver offices was closed Monday, Oct. 19 due to a previously announced furlough day for city employees.
Due to the furlough, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies closed. Partner entities such as Denver Health remain open Monday, Oct. 19, as agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Monday, Oct. 9 as well.
The Denver Elections Division be open Monday, Oct. 9 for legally required operations associated with the November 3 general election.
Due to the city furlough, the City Council meeting on Monday, Oct. 19 has been postponed. Council convene a Special Meeting to be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
The Denver County Court and all state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, be open Monday, Oct 19. For additional information: Denver County Court | 2nd Judicial District.
Solid Waste Management bene operating normal trash, recycling and compost collection services on the city furlough day scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19. There be no disruption in service for residents with Monday collection schedules.
Child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines be taking and responding to reports. To report suspected child abuse or neglect call 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437) from anywhere in Colorado. To report elder abuse for an adult 70 years and older or the abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000. For all other adult protection calls, please call 720-944-4DHS (4347).
Animal Protection Officers be available to respond to emergencies as requested by the Denver Police Department.
