Six former University of Denver men’s lacrosse players contributed a combined 29 points during Week 9 of the 2026 National Lacrosse League (NLL) season. The performances came as NCAA lacrosse teams, including Denver, prepared for their final preseason weekend.
In San Diego’s game against Philadelphia, Wes Berg provided one goal and three assists to help the Seals overcome an early deficit and secure a 9-7 victory. Trevor Baptiste won 12 out of 20 faceoffs and collected six loose balls, while Danny Logan picked up two loose balls. Berg also assisted on the game-winning goal with just over five minutes remaining.
At Ball Arena in Denver, Alex Simmons returned to his home city with a standout performance for Oshawa, tallying four goals and six assists for a total of ten points. Simmons was involved in ten of Oshawa’s eleven goals during their matchup against Colorado. Jack Hannah recorded one goal and six assists for Colorado, contributing to their 15-11 win.
The week also saw other former Pioneers making contributions across different NLL teams. For Georgia, Connell and Miller helped secure a close overtime win over Toronto. On Toronto’s side, Dawick registered one goal and three assists while Matthews had three assists.
Looking ahead, several games featuring former Denver players are scheduled for the coming week on ESPN+. Matchups include Saskatchewan vs. Calgary; Philadelphia vs. San Diego; Georgia vs. Halifax; Ottawa vs. Toronto; Buffalo vs. Colorado; and Oshawa vs. Las Vegas.
Denver’s own NCAA men’s lacrosse team will begin its regular season on January 31 with a home game against Cleveland State at noon Mountain Time. Tickets for the upcoming season are currently available for purchase.
