University of Denver graduate student Sara Rask has been named the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) Skier of the Meet for women’s alpine at the 2026 Colorado Invitational.
This marks Rask’s fourth career Skier of the Meet award from RMISA. She previously received this honor at the 2025 RMISA Alpine Qualifiers, the 2024 Denver Invitational, and the 2023 Westminster Invitational.
According to RMISA rules, student-athletes can only earn the Skier of the Meet award once per season. The winner is determined based on their placement in two discipline races during each meet.
Rask, who is from Stockholm, Sweden, started her season by winning both slalom races at Loveland Ski Area on January 12 and 13. However, only her win in the second event counted towards the Colorado Invitational. She also placed second in Colorado’s giant slalom race held on January 15 at Aspen Highlands.
Louison Accambray from the University of Colorado won both giant slalom races in Aspen and was awarded Skier of the Meet for the DU Invitational after a tiebreaker with Rask. Accambray edged out Rask by just 0.24 seconds with times of 3:30.67 to 3:30.91.
With her two season-opening slalom victories, Rask now has a total of 17 career wins, tying her for second in program history alongside men’s Nordic skiers Andreas Kirkeng and Pietro Broggini.
The upcoming alpine races are scheduled to begin Saturday at Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe as part of the Nevada Invitational and RMISA Alpine Qualifiers. Slalom events will take place on Saturday and Sunday, followed by giant slalom competitions on Monday and Tuesday. The second race in each discipline will count toward the Nevada Invite.
