Join us on Bannock Street for Bike to Work Day

DENVER – Join Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) in celebrating the thousands of Coloradoans that have pledged to participate in Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 28!

DOTI is hosting the region’s largest breakfast station on Bannock Street in front of the Denver City and County Building. People on bikes can make a pit stop on their way into work to enjoy free breakfast burritos and coffee, visit with participating vendors, and celebrate more connections created through Denver’s bike program!

Here are a few highlights of what riders will find at this year’s gathering:

  • Grab a free Santiago’s breakfast burrito (limited supply).
  • Coffee provided by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG)
  • Receive a bike tune up with bike techs from Mike’s Bikes (formerly Elevation Cycles).
  • Lime and Lyft scooter/e-bike test rides
  • Register your bicycle with the Denver Police Department and receive a free bike registration enhancement kit – an $11 value
  • Enjoy music provided by KBCO

Last month, Denver celebrated exceeding Mayor Hancock’s goal of installing 125 miles of new bike lanes in five years and is currently at 140 new miles since mid-2018. Every mile gets Denver closer to realizing the community’s vision of having a complete and connected network of bike lanes that provides a safe and viable travel option and alternative to driving. In all, Denver now has 436 total miles of bikeways, including on-street and off-street facilities, such as trails.

What: DOTI hosts breakfast station and celebrates progress on the city’s bike program!

Where:  Bannock Street directly in front of the Denver City & County Building at 1437 Bannock St.

When: Wednesday, June 28

6:00am to 9:30am:  breakfast station hours

7:35am: Mayor Hancock and DOTI Executive Director Adam Phipps address the crowd, then take a spin on some e-bikes!
