In 1978, Jim Saccomano got a call that would change his life: The Denver Broncos wanted to hire him. He spent 30-plus years working for the team, witnessing multiple Super Bowl wins, and retired as public relations vice president in 2013. This summer, Saccomano was honored as one of the best in the business as an inaugural winner of the National Football League Hall of Fame’s Award of Excellence.

Regis alumnus and veteran Sam Peterson’s business focuses on transforming mental health
From post-traumatic stress disorder to depression, Sam Peterson knows all too well the mental health struggles veterans face when they return home. A veteran of the U.S. Army and a former explosive ordnance disposal technician, Peterson struggled with mental health challenges once he left the military and watched as an epidemic of suicide rates among EOD technicians grew. Friends stepped in to help Peterson, leading to an experience that transformed his outlook on mental health.

Remember the old-fashioned ice cream truck that could entice a crowd on a summer day with frozen treats and that familiar tune? That was just a precursor to the food trucks we love today. Mobile kitchens have popped up all over Denver in the past ten years. Many are run by skilled chefs who enjoy preparing delicious, gourmet food on the spot. The aroma draws us in, and we find ourselves standing in line anticipating a tasty treat.
