The Energize Denver Building Performance team has published a Notice of Public Hearing on proposed rules and regulations that govern the Building Performance program that provide additional detail for buildings 5,000-24,999 sq. ft. and an alternate compliance option for Manufacturing, Agricultural, and Industrial (MAI) buildings. 

All interested parties are herby given notice that the City and County of Denver Office of Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resiliency, through the authority set forth in DRMC § 2-404, will hold a public hearing to consider the proposed “Rules and Regulations Governing the High-Performance Existing Buildings Program.” 

The hearing will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023, through a virtual hearing via ZOOM. Interested parties can register to attend the hearing.

There will be an opportunity for oral public comment at the hearing. Submit written comments to EnergizeDenver@Denvergov.org  by Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Comments can also be mailed to the Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency, at:

Mailed comments must be submitted no later than Close of Business, Monday, June 26, 2023. 

The proposed “Rules and Regulations Governing the High-Performance Existing Buildings Program” are available below. They can also be viewed in person at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office located in the Wellington Webb Building (201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202).
