The City and County of Denver is providing a weekly update on supporting any migrants who have arrived in Denver:

Denver continues to remain a welcoming city for all migrants at the city’s Reception Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., seven days per week.

Since early May, the number of arriving migrants has slowed. Currently 488 people are being sheltered. As of Wednesday, June 21, Denver has sheltered and supported 11,863 migrants from the southern border at a cost of more than $17.8 million.

The city is grateful for funding it has received so far to support migrant sheltering operations, including a reimbursement award of $3.5 million from the State of Colorado. The federal government has provided $909,000, and last week, the US Department of Homeland Security announced that Denver would receive $8.6 million in federal funding.

Call for Assistance and Donations

The city continues to call on neighboring municipalities and the federal government to assist. Individuals and organizations interested in volunteering or donating should visit Denvergov.org/MigrantSupport for more information on how to help and a full list of organizations accepting donations.

The Newcomers Fund is currently accepting monetary donations from the public. Donations will go directly to the city’s nonprofit partners who are supporting migrants with resource navigation, shelter, and other services. You can also help by volunteering to support the response.
