During the first quarter of 2026, Hilltop Park Post Acute ranked as Denver County’s second largest nursing facility, information from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.

The facility offered 160 beds, exceeding the Denver County average by 59 beds for the quarter. On average, Hilltop Park Post Acute served 147.8 residents during this time frame.

The CMS awarded the nursing home an overall score of 2 out of 5, which was lower than the Colorado statewide average rating of 3.2 for nursing homes.

Briarwood Health Care Center led the county with 201 available beds, making it the largest, while Hallmark Nursing Center followed Hilltop Park as the third largest with 143 beds.

Hilltop Park Post Acute incurred two fines totaling $66,307 and received three penalties as of the first quarter of 2026.

There were 21 for-profit nursing homes in Denver County, Colorado as of that period.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate that the U.S. continues to see growth in its older population, while younger age groups decrease. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans aged 65 and older increased by 13%, as the under-18 population declined by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult population has expanded significantly over the century, rising from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 study forecasts that about half of older adults—approximately 28 million people—might need long-term support and services, with over a third likely to require nursing home care in their lifetime.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
