On Saturday, Nov. 22, Jessie Matthews, a former standout at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Early College, saw his current team, the CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves, fall 37-24 to the Texas–Permian Basin Falcons in the NCAA Division II Football Championship.

The game was held at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl at 1 p.m. This marked the first tournament meeting between the ThunderWolves and the Falcons.
