FOIA Request to Colorado State Executive – State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Denver City Wire have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Colorado State Executive – State Board of Education.
The request seeks access to a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools under the Colorado Open Records Act § 24-72-201 et seq. This includes all required courses and general instruction provided in these educational institutions.
As an organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we believe that access to such records is essential. These records will aid us in fulfilling our professional responsibilities and ensure that we continue delivering accurate information about local government affairs to our readers.
We have requested these records preferably in electronic format for ease of access and dissemination. As media professionals, we have also requested a fee waiver given our role in gathering and reporting news to the public.
