The University of Denver skiing program announced on May 5 that five student-athletes earned a total of seven All-American awards at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
These honors were awarded following the national championships, which took place from March 11 to March 14 in Utah. Alpine events were held at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, while Nordic races took place at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway.
Senior alpine skier Mia Hunt received two first-team honors after placing third in women’s giant slalom and finishing as runner-up in slalom. The university said these are Hunt’s third and fourth career All-American accolades, and her first time being named to the first team. Freshman Synne Bollingmo was also recognized as a first-team All-American for her third-place finish in the women’s Nordic 7.5-kilometer classic, marking the program’s first podium finish by a women’s Nordic skier since Eveliina Piippo won an event in 2020.
Sophomore Eemil Juntunen earned second-team status with his seventh-place result in the men’s Nordic classic interval start. Senior Christian Soevik was named to the second team for both men’s alpine disciplines after finishing ninth in giant slalom and seventh in slalom; he now has four career All-American accolades. Senior Adrian Minde Hunshammer received his first All-American honor with an eighth-place finish in men’s alpine giant slalom, concluding a season that included ten top-10 finishes.
All-Americans are determined based on athletes’ finishes at the National Collegiate Skiing Championships: those placing one through five make the first team, while those finishing six through ten make second team. This year, Denver’s seven awards tied for third-most nationally. The new honors bring Denver’s all-time total to 403 All-Americans across its skiing program history.
The Pioneers finished third overall as a team at this year’s NCAA Championships, surpassing Montana State on the final day during the 20K freestyle event.
