Eric Law, a former University of Denver men’s lacrosse All-American, has announced his retirement from professional lacrosse after a 13-season career that spanned three different leagues.

Law played for the Denver Pioneers from 2011 to 2013, having transferred from Salisbury after his freshman year. He accumulated 152 career points during his time at Denver, which places him tenth in the program’s Division I history. His 66 assists also rank tenth in the same category. In the 2013 season, Law recorded 78 points and led Denver to its second Championship Weekend appearance; this single-season total remains second-best in program history. That year, he also tallied 35 assists, tying for third-most in a single season for the team.

“Law was drafted 29th overall in Major League Lacrosse by the Denver Outlaws in 2013. In his 13 field seasons of professional lacrosse, Law produced 297 goals. After playing in two Championship Weekends in college and graduating just two years before Denver’s first Championship run, Law lifted three trophies in five years for the Outlaws.”

The attackman joined Atlas in 2019 and later signed with the Premier Lacrosse League’s Denver Outlaws during the middle of the 2024 campaign.

Off the field, Law contributed to community efforts through involvement with Denver City Lax, working to provide resources and promote lacrosse throughout Denver.

He has already started a broadcasting career by calling Pioneers games for Altitude over recent years and participating as a commentator on several National Lacrosse League broadcasts.

The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team will begin its 2026 schedule with eight home games, starting against Cleveland State on January 31 at noon Mountain Time. Tickets for these games are currently available for purchase.
