U.S. Representative Diana DeGette, who has represented Colorado’s 1st district in Congress since 1997, recently posted a series of messages on her official X (formerly Twitter) account covering holiday greetings, local sports achievements, and commentary on national economic issues.
On December 14, DeGette marked the beginning of Hanukkah with a message to her followers: “Tonight marks the first night of Hanukkah. May these next eight nights be filled with peace, light, and joy. Chag Sameach!”
The following day, December 15, she celebrated a local sports milestone by posting: “Broncos continue to roll! Proud of the team for securing a playoff spot with last night’s win. #BroncosCountry”
On December 16, DeGette commented on national politics and the economy with a brief statement: “This is Donald Trump’s ‘A+++++’ economy.”
DeGette has served as Colorado’s 1st District representative in Congress since replacing Pat Schroeder in 1997. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 1993 to 1997. Born in Tachikawa, Japan in 1957 and currently residing in Denver at age 65, DeGette holds degrees from Colorado College and New York University School of Law.
