U.S. Representative Diana DeGette, who has represented Colorado’s 1st district in Congress since 1997, used her social media account on December 19, 2025, to comment on legislative and policy developments regarding health care tax credits, the release of Epstein Files, and immigration enforcement.

On December 19, DeGette wrote: “House Democrats secured 218 signatures to force a vote on extending the ACA tax credits for 3 years.

We stood on the Capitol steps today with one message for Speaker Johnson: Bring this to the Floor immediately.

Instead, he sent Members home for the rest of the year. This is a https://t.co/Am9tpx3sUd“.

Later that day, she addressed the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein: “Congress passed and Trump signed into law the legislation requiring the full release of the Epstein Files by TODAY.

Now, his administration is saying they will only release some of the files today. That’s unacceptable.

All legal options will be explored to force them to https://t.co/xoI5celUOm“.

In another post dated December 19, DeGette discussed an immigration case: “Jeanette Vizguerra’s detention has been an example of the Trump administration’s bigoted immigration policy. They claim to be going after the worst of the worst, but instead they are going after mothers with U.S.-born children and advocates like Jeanette.

Today’s bond hearing”.

DeGette has served as a member of Congress representing Colorado’s 1st District since replacing Pat Schroeder in 1997. She previously served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1993 to 1997. Born in Tachikawa, Japan in 1957 and currently residing in Denver, DeGette holds a BA from Colorado College (1979) and a JD from New York University (1982).
