U.S. Representative Diana DeGette, who has represented Colorado’s 1st district in Congress since 1997, recently posted a series of tweets addressing national economic issues and local sports events.

On January 16, 2026, DeGette commented on rising grocery prices and attributed the increase to federal policies under former President Trump. She wrote, “Despite Trump’s Claims, Grocery Prices Are Rising.” Because when you slap tariffs on food, send ICE after workers, and gut consumer watchdogs—prices don’t go down. They go up. Every time. Turning to sports, DeGette celebrated the Denver Broncos’ recent football victory in a tweet posted on January 18, 2026: “What a win! Broncos hold on in overtime to take down the Bills and head to the AFC Championship. #BroncosCountry https://t.co/9QO85CcbnC”.

Later that same day, she expressed support for injured player Bo Nix and encouragement for his teammates: “Sad to hear of Bo Nix’s injury, but I know he will come back stronger. Thanks to him for his incredible game tonight, and well wishes to the team who will step up & fight in his absence to show what #BroncosCountry means! “.

DeGette has served as Colorado’s representative in Congress since replacing Pat Schroeder in 1997 and previously held office in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1993 to 1997. Born in Tachikawa, Japan in 1957 and now residing in Denver at age 65, DeGette is an alumna of Colorado College (BA) and New York University (JD).
