University of Denver women’s tennis players have once again claimed all the weekly Summit League honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday. This marks the second consecutive week that DU athletes have swept these awards.

Louise Wikander was recognized as the Summit League Singles Peak Performer of the Week for a second straight time. The doubles team of Hana Bečirovič Novak and Marley Lambert earned Doubles Peak Team of the Week honors.

Wikander improved her singles record to 3-0 for the season, winning both matches last weekend without dropping a set. She defeated Miami (OH) 6-1, 6-1 and Colorado 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 1 singles position on January 31 and February 1. Her victory over Miami (OH) contributed to Denver’s 7-0 win, while her performance against Colorado helped even the score in a match DU ultimately won 4-2.

The doubles pair of Bečirovič Novak and Lambert also secured two wins with identical 6-2 scores from their top-line position. They clinched the doubles point against Miami (OH) and added another win versus Colorado.

This is Wikander’s fourth career Singles Peak Performer award. For Bečirovič Novak/Lambert, it is their first Doubles Peak Team honor as a duo; Lambert now has five career doubles weekly awards, while this is Bečirovič Novak’s first such recognition.

These latest honors are the third and fourth received by Denver women’s tennis players this season.

Denver will conclude its opening home stretch with upcoming matches against Air Force and Colorado State on February 6–7 at Denver Tennis Park.
