The University of Denver women’s tennis team achieved a 4-0 victory over Air Force on Friday at Denver Tennis Park, maintaining an undefeated start to the 2026 season. This win marks the team’s second sweep of the year and brings their record to 4-0.

The match began with doubles play. Denver’s No. 3 duo, senior Zoe Adkins and sophomore Natálie Cinková, secured a quick 6-1 win. Air Force responded by winning at No. 1 doubles, leaving the point to be decided on Court 2. Seniors Louise Wikander and freshman Yunfei Cai clinched the opening point for Denver after taking a tiebreaker, giving the Pioneers an early advantage.

In singles competition, Denver continued its strong performance. Cai lost just one game at No. 6 singles, marking her third dominant win in four matches this season. Wikander maintained her perfect record at No. 1 singles without dropping a set during dual play this year, contributing another point for Denver.

Senior Hana Becirovic Novak then secured the overall victory for DU with her second consecutive singles win since joining the lineup last weekend.

With three matches remaining unfinished due to scheduling for a men’s tennis match, seniors Marley Lambert and Zoe Adkins were both making progress in their respective contests, while Cinková was close to securing another win for the team.

Denver will continue its home stand against Colorado State on Saturday, January 7.
