The University of Denver women’s tennis team secured a 4-0 victory over Colorado State at the Denver Tennis Park on Saturday, marking its second consecutive sweep against an in-state opponent.

In doubles play, the Pioneers clinched the point with a win on Court 1. Seniors Hana Bečirovič Novak and Marley Lambert took their match 6-4, breaking serve in the third game and maintaining that lead for the remainder of the set. At No. 3 doubles, senior Zoe Adkins and sophomore Natalie Cinková opened with a strong performance, winning 6-2 after capturing two early breaks and regaining momentum to serve out the match. Colorado State managed a win at No. 2 doubles but could not secure the overall point.

During singles competition, Denver’s points came from players in positions four through six. Natalie Cinková won her match at No. 4 singles with two sets of 6-1, breaking early in both sets to take control. Freshman Ruby Hansen contributed by dropping only one game across two sets for what was described as her best collegiate result so far. Freshman Yunfei Cai clinched the dual for Denver at No. 5 singles, taking her first set 6-4 before finishing with a decisive 6-1 second set.

Other matches were unfinished when Denver secured victory; senior Louise Wikander led by a set and was tied in her second set, while Adkins and Lambert were also ahead or even in their respective matches.

The team is scheduled to complete its home stand next Saturday by hosting another in-state opponent.
