The University of Denver women’s tennis team has released its spring 2026 dual schedule, as announced by head coach Paul Wardlaw. The schedule includes 20 dual matches and a final hidden dual-style tournament starting in January. Nine of the duals will take place at Denver Tennis Park.
The Pioneers will begin their season at the Long Beach State Winter Invite from January 16-18, featuring daily singles and doubles matchups. Their first five true duals are scheduled to be played at home, with Seattle as the home opener on January 23. This match marks an early meeting with a future West Coast Conference opponent for Denver. During this initial homestand, the team will also host in-state NCAA Division I teams Air Force, Colorado, and Colorado State.
Following their home matches, Denver will go on a five-match road trip that includes stops in Utah, Arizona, and Minnesota. The Summit League opener is set for February 28 at St. Thomas.
Denver’s schedule features matches against three teams that finished the previous season with ITA national rankings: Tulsa (No. 37), Memphis (No. 57), and BYU (No. 63). The team will also participate in Arizona’s Red/Blue Challenge in February against No. 31 Arizona.
After returning home for two matches against South Dakota and Davidson in March, Denver heads to Memphis for two contests before facing Tulsa on April 3 for its non-conference finale. Summit League play resumes at Kansas City on April 4.
The last two home matches of the regular season are set against Oral Roberts and North Dakota on April 10 and April 11 respectively. The final regular-season match is scheduled for April 18 at Omaha.
This season marks Denver’s last year competing in the Summit League. The team aims to qualify for the Summit League Women’s Tennis Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, taking place April 24-25. Since joining the conference in the 2013-14 season, Denver has won every edition of the tournament when it has been held.
Reflecting on recent performances, senior Louise Wikander represented DU at the NCAA Division I Singles Tennis Championship after winning the ITA Mountain Regional singles title during the fall season but was eliminated in the round of 64. Wikander leads a group of five seniors into the spring campaign alongside Hana Bečirovič Novak, Marley Lambert, Claudia Martinez de Velasco, and Omaha transfer Zoe Adkins.
“Denver is scheduled for 20 duals and one final hidden dual-style tournament, beginning in January,” head coach Paul Wardlaw announced on Wednesday.
