The Denver Pioneers alpine ski team competed in the second round of the 2026 FIS Nor-Am Cup last week in Quebec, Canada. The events took place at Mont-Tremblant and Sommet Saint-Sauveur Resorts, with men and women racing at different locations over four days. Both groups participated in two slalom and two giant slalom races.

Denver skiers and alumni achieved a total of 18 top-15 finishes, nine top-10 placements, and four top-five results across eight races. Notable alumni who raced included Cooper Cornelius, Simon Fournier, Storm Klomhaus, Eleri Smart, and Galena Wardle.

Simon Fournier, an alumnus and native of Quebec, recorded three top-10 finishes: fifth and ninth in the slaloms, and a tie for second place with current Denver senior Adrian Minde Hunshammer in the second giant slalom race on Thursday.

Hunshammer’s performance marked his best finish at a North American Cup event. It was also his second podium of the 2025-26 season after placing third in giant slalom at Aspen’s Holiday Classic on December 17.

Senior Mia Hunt led Denver’s women in three out of four races. She placed fifth and seventh in the slaloms and finished twelfth and fifteenth in the giant slaloms.

Three seniors—Sara Rask, Josephine Trueblood, and Eirik Kveno—did not compete last week.

The Nor-Am Cup continues with rounds scheduled for Whiteface (New York) and Bromont (Quebec) in early February before concluding with finals in Aspen later in March.

The collegiate alpine season begins Monday with the Denver Invitational’s slalom event at Loveland Ski Area. The Colorado Invite’s slalom will also be held at Loveland on Tuesday; both meets will conclude with giant slalom events at Aspen Highlands on Wednesday and Thursday.
