The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 15 in the Week 3 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.

Denver scored a 195.850 in its first road meet of the season at then-No. 25 Texas Woman’s in a tri meet with Arizona on January 16. The team competed without several key routines across all four events but managed to count 20 hit routines and secured at least a share of four out of five individual titles.

In the national rankings, Denver holds an average score of 196.213 overall, placing them at No. 15. The team is tied for No. 19 on vault (48.988), tied for No. 20 on bars (48.950), tied for No. 16 on beam (48.975), and stands at No. 8 on floor (49.300). Compared to Week 2, Denver improved its bars ranking by three spots, maintaining top-20 status in all four events and remaining inside the top ten nationally on floor for the second consecutive week.

Senior Cecilia Cooley is tied for No. 1 nationally on floor with a score of 9.950 after following up her season-opening performance with a 9.925 at Texas Woman’s, making her only the second Denver gymnast to hold a No. 1 floor ranking in back-to-back weeks since Nina McGee achieved this twice during the 2016 season.

Junior Maddison Reidenbach moved up one spot to tie for No. 18 in the all-around with a score of 39.275, matching her season opener and winning the all-around title outright at Texas Woman’s in just her second collegiate all-around appearance.

Freshman Shyla Bhatia is tied for No. 20 nationally on vault with a score of 9.875 after delivering a strong Yurchenko 1.5 routine and finishing among the top two in event standings for two consecutive meets.

Denver will remain on the road next week as it travels to West Virginia for its Big 12 Conference opener scheduled for Saturday, January 24.

Tickets for the University of Denver gymnastics team’s home meets are now available online, by phone at 303-871-4625, or at the Ritchie Center Box Office.
