DENVER– The Denver Office of Emergency Management was recognized by Mayor Hancock who awarded the City and County of Denver’s coveted Mayoral Gold Challenge Coin, presented to Executive Director Matthew Mueller on Wednesday, June 12. 

The award letter, reads in part, “you are joining a short list of distinguished local, state, national and global leaders and change agents who have been honored as recipients of this coin for their positive impact on Denver, including former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter; famed U.S Navy Seal Marcus Latrell (the Lone Survivor); the late owner of the Denver Broncos, Pat Bowlen; former Broncos great, John Elway; renowned real estate developer and trendsetter, Dana Crawford; and international performer, Stevie Wonder – to name a few. It’s now my distinct honor to present this award to you on behalf of the people of Denver.” 

The names of all recipients are recorded and will be placed in the annals of the Michael B. Hancock administration at the Denver Public Library.
