University of Denver men’s lacrosse player Cody Malawsky has been named to the 2026 BIG EAST Preseason Team, according to an announcement from the conference office. The selection was made through a vote by head coaches in the league.

Malawsky, a redshirt junior attackman from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, started 12 games last season and recorded 32 points for the second year in a row, with 18 goals and 14 assists. His performance included a seven-point game against Utah and five points during a match at Marquette. Last season, he was also recognized on the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List and earned BIG EAST Second Team honors.

The preseason poll placed Denver third among conference teams. The team’s upcoming schedule features eight home games, beginning with a matchup against Cleveland State on January 31 at noon Mountain Time.
